Foundation Horses
The Generations
Foundation Generation
The First Generation is always a Osnaburg x Damask (or Damask x Osnaburg). This cross, if passing the standard will be admitted into the studbook as a foundation horse.
First Generation
First Generation is always Foundation Jaquardi x Foundation Jaquardi. To be considered a First Generation Jaquardi, both parents must fit every aspect of the breed description and standard. Admitance by the parents to the studbook is not required but the value of the foal is higher if they are.
Second Generation
Second Generation is going to be a First Generation x First Generation or First Generation x Approved Foundation Horse.
Continuing Generations
From this point forward, all horses used in breeding the Jaquardi should be called Jaquardi or be approved as a foundation cross in the studbook. A Jaquardi must be at least third generation before becoming elidgeable to be outcrossed for the various types.
Description
Jaquard pl. Jaquardi

An intricately-woven variegated fabric
Light bodied and elegant, the Jaquard has a refined head with a minimal dished profile, along with large nostrils and wide set eyes. They have strong shoulders and powerful hindquarters. Their short backs and strong bodies give them a compact, well muscled appearance. Their tail is moderately set and held high more often than not. Due to their high energy and quick dexterity, they may seem to be hotter in temperament than either of the origin breeds.
These horses are making a name for themselves in the Cross Country discipline, combining the best of the Damascus endurance and athleticism and the light body and quick acceleration of the Osnaburger. The traits that make them good in Cross Country, also make them fantastic jumpers in any capacity and in most disciplines requiring quick feet and fast reaction.
Color is not as important as a pattern when it comes to this breed. All patterns, with the exception of Roan, will tend to spotted, rather than a painted look. As such all lines and painted or patchwork are disallowed. Most First generation Osnaburgs start as cool tones when it comes to color but the hotter tones are not disallowed.
